About Us

Our Story

The closures of almost all Christian bookstores in the Toronto area in 2008 created an urgent need for a local place to get Christian resources. Where could the Christian community browse through the latest Christian books, find the perfect inspirational cards and gifts, or get resources for Sunday school?

On May 2, 2009, we celebrated our grand opening as a Christian resource centre that offers the community not just books, but also, gifts, CDs, DVDs, greeting cards, resources and even a large cafe. Since then, God has blessed us immensely, as we’ve continued to expand our product lines, support local Toronto suppliers, and host a variety of Christian authors and artists.

Now, with the launch of our new website, we are thankful for the opportunity to provide Christian and inspirational books, gifts and art to homes and churches across the country.

Our Staff

We have over 25 great employees! Karen Black is the manager, and Jim Taylor is the assistant manager. Come drop in and say hello anytime!

Owners

Kern Kalideen, Partner & CFO of the retail store, is a Certified Accountant (FCCA (UK), CGA), and is currently a Director within the Risk Management Department at a large financial institution. He has over 20 years experience within the Risk Management and Internal Audit profession, creating value for Financial Companies. He is also the executive pastor of Global Kingdom Ministries (formerly Scarboro Gospel Temple).

Larry N Willard, president of the new venture, is the owner and publisher of Castle Quay Books Canada and BayRidge Books, Canada’s largest non-denominational publishing company. He was executive director and general manager of Augsburg Fortress Publishing Company in Canada for 4 years, one of the largest Canadian Christian resource and publishing company distributors in Canada, and worked 17 years with Xerox Corporation and 4 with Apple Computers. He also spent 9 years with Tyndale University College & Seminary in various VP roles.

Paul Fredericks serves as VP of Business Development and is an independent businessman, entrepreneur, and the founder and president of Inspire Brands, a company that manages and operates 15 restaurants across Ontario and western Canada under the  names Grill It Up! and Carbbean Queen.
